Meet the Teacher
Ophelia is a classically trained musician and educator dedicated to helping students develop strong musicianship, confidence, and a lifelong love of music.
She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music with a concentration in Piano & Voice Performance and Music Theory from Hunter College. In addition to her classical training, Ophelia has pursued studies in Modern and Popular Music at Teachers College, Columbia University, giving her a well-rounded perspective that bridges traditional piano education with contemporary musical styles.
Her teaching philosophy emphasizes the development of strong musicianship through technique, music reading, ear training, rhythm, music theory, and expressive performance. Rather than simply teaching students how to play songs, Ophelia helps students understand music, build confidence, and develop the skills needed to become independent musicians.
Lessons are thoughtfully tailored to each student's age, goals, and learning style. Whether a student is just beginning their musical journey, preparing for recitals and auditions, or exploring music for personal enjoyment, Ophelia creates a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages growth and creativity.
Lessons are available in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin for children, teens, and adults of all experience levels.

What ages do you teach?
We specialize in piano lessons for children and teens starting from age 5, as well as adult piano lessons for both beginners and returning pianists.
Do I need a piano at home?
Yes, having a piano or a full-sized digital keyboard with weighted keys at home is essential for regular practice and consistent progress.
Are online lessons available?
Yes, we offer both in-person lessons at our Queens studio and online lessons to accommodate different family needs and schedules.
How long are lessons?
Lesson length varies based on the student's level and age, typically ranging from 30, 45, to 60 minutes.
Do you offer trial lessons?
Absolutely. We encourage booking a trial lesson to ensure our teaching style is the right fit for your child before committing to a full term. Trial lessons are typically 30 minutes long and $60 for one.
Studio Policies
Tuition
Tuition rates are available upon request. Monthly tuition is due during the first week of each month. Payments not received by the due date may result in lessons being suspended until payment is received.
Cancellation Policy
A minimum of 24 hours' notice is required for lesson cancellations. Lessons canceled with at least 24 hours' notice may be eligible for a make-up lesson, subject to studio availability. Lessons canceled with less than 24 hours' notice, missed lessons ("no-shows"), or forgotten lessons are not eligible for refunds, credits, or make-up lessons.

These studio policies help us keep lessons smooth, respectful, and enjoyable for every student and family.
Attendance & Make-Up Lessons
Consistent attendance is essential for steady musical progress. If the teacher needs to cancel a lesson, a make-up lesson or tuition credit will be provided. If a student must miss a lesson due to illness, emergency, or unavoidable circumstances, please notify the teacher as soon as possible. One make-up lesson may be offered at the teacher's discretion and subject to availability.
Holidays & Closures
The studio follows major holidays throughout the year. Families will be notified in advance of any scheduled studio closures.
